SERMON NOTES:
Waiting Well Lesson 1: Fill waiting on God with LONGING for God!
Isaiah 40 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.
3 A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Waiting Well Lesson 2: Receive Yahweh’s Comfort as you hope in Him!
There is a difference between being comforted and being comfortable!
Hoping in Yahweh is comforting because we lose control of timing and strategy but get a better result!
