Live Like Jesus Lives...Be Holy!

SERMON NOTES:

When I Live Like Jesus Lives -  my life is better and I am better at life

-          I fear less and am more hope full!

1 Peter 1 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be self-controlled; (with minds that are alert and fully sober) set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’

Holy means “set apart” from god-less living (devil, world and sinful nature) to God-filled living!

It is about being different (identity) and doing different (action)!

“Being Holy” means -

·          “Out of this world” thinking for “in this world” living!

·         Healthy “being” (heart) leads to healthy “doing” (life)!

·         Living “set apart” but not alone!

Live Like Jesus Lives...Intimidated No More!

SERMON NOTES:

When I Live Like Jesus Lives

-          my life is Better and I am Better at life

-          I fear less and am more hope full!

Acts 4:1-31 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them:…10Know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. 13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus”
29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

What intimidates ME? (My identity and life in Christ!)

Intimidated No More!

·         Jesus Only!

·         “Been with Jesus”

·         “Lord, Enable your servants …!”

SERMON NOTES:

Live Like Jesus Lives … in Jesus Name!

When I Live Like Jesus Lives my life is Better and I am Better at life
I fear less and am more hope full!

Acts 3:1-23
6 Then Peter said,  “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? …15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. 16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.
